Remanufacturing is utilized for structurally damaged wheels, including those that are cracked or severely bent. They are repaired using state-of-the-art CNC technology and digital profiling. This process involves stripping the wheel of its former finish, welding (if required), and safely cutting the surface with a CNC lathe. Once the wheel is cleaned, powder primed, painted, and powder clear-coated, it is oven-baked. Remanufacturing utilizes production processes similar to those utilized when a wheel is manufactured. Painted, machined, polished, or personalized wheels, cosmetically or structurally damaged can be restored to a like-new condition safely and then powder coated to ensure a full replication of the OEM finish.
Precision computerized machine tools enable AWRS to safely trim the repaired surfaces of a rim without affecting the strength. Such machining is done to smooth out welded areas and to enhance the original finish of the wheel. All wheels requiring machining are carefully inspected and must meet our "safe to repair" criteria.
